Map Notes

  1. The figures on registered Palestine refugee are not to be regarded as comprehensive demographic data. Records are updated constantly and are based on information the refugees volunteer, usually to establish eligibility for a desired service. Figures include natural increase. There are Palestine refugees in Lebanon who are not registered with UNRWA although they have that entitlement. In addition, some of those registered may now be living outside of Lebanon. There are also persons who are bona fide 1948 refugees from Palestine, or their direct descendents, who were never registered with UNRWA. All figures as of 31 March 2005.
  2. There are 16,282 refugees who were registered in the now destroyed camps of Dikwaneh and Nabatieh who are now living in other camps. In addition there are 9,595 registered refugees who are either UNRWA employees or refugee women married to non-registered husbands.
